Job Purpose:

As an MSC Tier III Engineer, you will provide support in high profile and dynamic Managed Services Center supporting numerous remote clients of varying size. You will have the ability to design, develop and install Data Center infrastructures (servers (physical/virtual), storage and LAN/SAN). You will be responsible for diagnostics, resolution, tracking, escalation of Data Center systems incidents.

Job Responsibilities:

Network and Security support as it applies to ePlus MSC and ePlus MSC client base.

  • Ensure IT assets are highly available and properly deployed in order to maximize ePlus service capability. Utilize company applications like FastTrack, Service Desk, LiveLink and email to ensure prompt reliable coverage.
  • Define, assist in the management, test, implement, and deploy new and existing technologies as it pertains to Data Center and Cloud infrastructure.
  • Strive, where possible, to mitigate geographic and environment risks. Set a high standard for technical implementations to ensure the security and confidentiality of ePlus and customer assets and intellectual properties.
  • Assess ePlus MSC and customer conditions and recommend operational changes. Log all material work, tasks and system changes in Fast Track and Service Desk.
  • Periodic reviews internal process and control documentation as relates to IT Infrastructure, IT Operations and to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Ensure proper recordkeeping of all licenses, agreements, entitlements, and invoice approvals as relates to the MSC infrastructure.
  • Ensure access control rights to all individuals are properly authorized and evidenced.
  • Data center/systems support in a Managed Services Center
  • Resolve and manage problems immediately. Work in a team environment with the ability to function with independent discretion during rotating shift work.
  • Provide systems support function for client end systems, which include designing, developing, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution.  Follows through until problems are resolved.
  • Maintain current and high level technical skills in Data Center field of expertise. Keep abreast of developments in computing technology and solutions to common problems.
Requirements

Job Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience/training on one or more of the following: NetApp, Cisco UCS (B and C-Series), Cisco Nexus (LAN/SAN), Microsoft Window 2003+ Active Directory, VMware vSphere/ESX(i)
  • Understanding of NAS (CIFS and NFS), SAN (iSCSI and FCP), protocols and implementation
  • Knowledge of LAN and SAN Concepts
  • Understanding of switching concepts-VLAN, Trunking, Port-Channels
  • Experience with NetApp FAS, Cisco UCS, HP Proliant servers, Dell PowerEdge Servers, drive and controllers
  • VMware vSphere knowledge of HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, SRM
  • Willingness to work on-call schedule

Education and Experience:

  • College preferred, high school diploma required.
  • 5 or more years of Data Center systems administration experience.
  • Desired certifications:
    • NetApp Certified Data Administrator, NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer
    • VMware Certified Professional
    • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate
    • Cloud Platform Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
    • Google – Associate Cloud Engineer
