The ePlus Internship Program:

The ePlus Internship Program offers students exposure to transformative IT strategy deployment designed to help customers plan, build, optimize and support their critical business needs. The program involves direct supervision by corporate leaders in a sales-focused track that allows practical, hands-on application of principles learned in the classroom. From June 1- August 1, we enable students to gain valuable real-world experience via a structured, ten-week program that includes assigned tasks, a term project and a final evaluation. Throughout the process, we incorporate professional development, feedback and coaching which are integral to the internship experience, providing interns with support and learning for their future career endeavors. At ePlus, we make technology mean more.

Management and Mentorship:

The ePlus internship Program provides students the ability to learn not only practical, real-life application in their desired field, but also how to deal with day-to-day problems which arise from work duties and interpersonal relationships. Interns will be assigned a both a day-to-day supervisor and a non-supervising ePlus mentor. Interns are encouraged to work closely with both their manager and their mentor.

Managers:

Managers of ePlus interns will be responsible for assigning day-to-day activities, providing training, direction, and oversight and program evaluation to help train and develop interns to achieve the program goals.

Mentors:

ePlus Mentors are non-supervisory advisors who will serve to help interns in their transition from college to professional life offering guidance on problem-solving, time management, strategy and focus to help interns develop a good work ethic and comfort as a working professional.

Job Purpose:

As a Sales Intern, learn about the technologies sold at ePlus, learn the programs and processes utilized and understand how to increase revenue and market presence in an assigned geographic area.

Job Responsibilities:

Sales & Marketing

  • Consult with and shadow current Inside Sales Representative to fully learn all responsibilities of the position
  • Assist with building product and services configurations with distributors and manufacturers
  • Assist Account Executives with population, updates and maintenance of internal applications
  • Assist with research and quote opportunities for product and service fulfillment, using all available resources to satisfy the customer requirements at the most advantageous cost to ePlus.
  • Learn how to design and develop an account marketing plan
  • Assist in preparation and participation of bi-weekly and monthly forecasts and territory reviews.
  • Learn the Accounts Receivable Aging Report and manage customer credit availability
  • Watch open orders to make sure orders are billing in a timely manner.

Business Development

  • Learn and assist in qualifying business opportunities by initiating targeted outbound calls and identifying scope of projects and initiatives, decision makers, stakeholders, and overall scope of opportunity
    • How to develop new account customers
    • How to expand current customer portfolio
    • How to build and nurture relationships
  • Achieve pre-defined goals by prospecting, lead response, and relationship building
Requirements

Job Knowledge/Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a college degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Interest in an Inside or Outside sales career path
