As the Lead Onboarding Engineer for ePlus Managed Services you will drive the technical execution of the validation and provisioning phases of onboarding for new customers. Skill-sets must include problem determination, escalation and follow-up for problems, managing multiple projects, evaluation and implementation of new systems, and documentation. May involve use of problem management database and help desk systems. Excellent phone manner is a plus. Work in a team environment with the ability to function independently. The Lead Onboarding Engineer will ensure the quality and services delivered form the team, and will be responsible for maintain the skill set necessary to be effective.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute, manage and lead a set of Managed Services Center customers thru the technical onboarding process
  • Maintain internal and/or client-facing documentation, as assigned
  • Interface with internal and external organizations and ensure onboarding process is properly completed
  • Analyze, develop and communicate key onboarding process and technology improvements to applicable teams
  • Escalate unresolved issues to internal ePlus staff, within pre-determined timeframes, based on contractual obligations, on a client-by-client basis
  • Maintain current and high-level of technical skill in field of expertise; keep abreast of developments in computing technology and solutions to common problems

Job Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience/training on the majority of the following:
    • Cisco IOS/NXOS, Firewalls: Cisco/Palo Alto, Cisco Voice/ Collaboration, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, NetApp/Pure, VMware
  • Understanding of SNMP and API monitoring
  • Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting
  • Understanding of WAN, LAN, interfaces, protocols, topology and concepts
  • Ability to demonstrate broad understanding of IT architectures, including networking, services/virtualization, storage, and security
  • Excellent organization skills and oral/written communication skills
  • Works well in a team environment and independently
  • CCNA Certification of 2 or more years' experience
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concreate variables in standardized situations.
  • Python, BASH, Powershell scripting
  • Troubleshooting WAN/LAN networking issues
  • Understanding of NHCP/DNS and VPN
  • Experience with Remedy, ScienceLogic EM7, and the ITIL Process

Education and Experience:

  • 2 or more years of networking and/or systems administration experience
  • Previous experience working with customers in high-stress situations, on complex problems
  • ITIL V3 Certification preferred
