As a Junior Account Executive with experience in a Value Added Reseller space, your key objective is to increase revenue and market presence in your assigned geographic area by supporting and selling to the smaller or less developed accounts and targeting new accounts of all sizes. You will be paired with a Sr Account Executive that will set direction, mentor and assist in the development of those accounts and opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

Qualify business opportunities by initiating a high volume of outbound calls and identifying scope of projects and initiatives, decision makers, stakeholders, and overall scope of opportunity.

  • Engage with new accounts and opportunities in a consultative and professional manner
  • Require minimal oversight – work with Sr AE to develop strategy and plan and execute
  • Work with regional and national resources to bring technical experts into the sales cycle
  • Assist with configurations/deals/ relationships with distributors and manufacturers
  • Achieve quota through prospecting, lead response, and relationship building with customers
  • Follow the Accounts Receivable Aging Report and manage customer payments to keep credit available, within their credit limit
  • Watch open orders to make sure orders are billing in a timely manner
  • Work with current Account Executives to grow accounts
  • Develop new account customers
  • Maintain existing account customer base to include relationship building
  • Increase annual revenue from each existing account
  • Develop and implement quarterly marketing account plan
  • Provide bi-monthly forecast (1st and 15th) and quarterly reviews to management
  • Manage IT fulfillment and professional services
  • Conduct business in a professional, competent and ethical manner
  • 30% business travel is required

Job Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong customer relationship and consultative skills working in a VAR environment is required
  • Up to 2+ years of successful technology sales experience in a value added reseller environment
    • Including implementation, project and ongoing services
  • Ability to qualify, penetrate, and close new accounts
  • Demonstrate proficiency in presentation and communication skills
  • Team-oriented sales approach
  • Must live in the local sales area
  • Possess ability to work independently

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years successful technology sales experience in a VAR environment is required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements of Position:

Ability of finger dexterity to be used primarily to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects or pinching fingers together. Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands and / or fingers. Speech ability must be at a level where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly. Hearing ability must be at a level to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information. Visual ability must be average with ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery. Physical strength for sedentary work with sitting most of the time. May have to exert or lift up to 10 – 20 pounds of force occasionally.
