Job Purpose:

As an Engineer, you will serve as a key contributor to the ePlus sales process by performing installation and troubleshooting work on various computer and networking hardware, Collaboration software and video conferencing.  Additionally, as an engineer you would be using developer language(s) to assist in developing repeatable processes around collaboration solution deployments for our clients.

From strategy to fulfillment to managed services, our engineering centric solutions enable our clients to realize what it means for technology to do more.

Job Responsibilities:                                                              

  • Provide deployment and implementation services of multi -vendor solutions in both a Data Center and a corporate office environment
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for applicable service calls
  • Perform advanced hardware configuration of at least one of the following:  Cisco Collaboration Software, video conferencing codecs, video conferencing infrastructure, Networking, and/or Software Programing
  • Troubleshoot and perform remediation repairs; escalate to Sr. Engineers, as needed

** All engineers are required to provide on-call technical support, both remotely and on-site, outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, on a rotating basis.**

Requirements

Job Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills both on phone and in-person
  • Professional demeanor and good communication skills
  • Ability to think and come up with solutions quickly
  • Must be fully knowledgeable and able to diagnose, install and repair one or more of the following technologies:
    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
    • Cisco Unity Connection
    • Cisco Jabber
    • Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX)
    • Cisco Voice Gateways (PRI, SIP, FXO, FXS)
    • Python Programming or other Scripting languages
    • Microsoft (i.e. Office 365 Migrations, Exchange Migrations, Azure)
    • Networking
    • A/V hardware installations

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT, engineering or A/V
  • Work towards achieving manufacturer specific advanced certifications- i.e.: CCDP,CCSP, VCP, HP MASE HP, NASP, CCNA, CCDA, TCE1, TCE2, TSA
